JOSEPH C. GRAVES FOUNDATION
Joseph C. Graves was a 19 yr. old who loved to dance and teach choreography to the youth. On December 11, 2015, he was killed in his mom’s car due to gun violence. He was not the intended target. In June 2017, four young ladies, including his mom, started the Joseph C. Graves “Break the Silence; Stop the Violence” Foundation. The founders wanted to bring purpose to this tragic loss and keep Joseph’s legacy alive. Therefore the foundation was created to help decrease violence among the youth by creating opportunities through scholarships and community service that will inspire and enrich the lives of young people. Although Joseph did not finish college, he had the opportunity to attend. We want to help youth to have that same opportunity and provide positive effects in our society.
